Tadej Pogacar won 11 World Tour races in 2021, including overall victory at the Tour de France and one-day monument success at Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Il Lombardia, on his way to 7744 Classics-adjusted* Velogames points during the year, narrowly beating compatriot Primoz Roglic who gained 10 World Tour victories and 7664 Classics-adjusted* Velogames points. Wout van Aert came third in the Velogames Rider of the Year ranking, with 7024 Classics-adjusted* Velogames points and seven UCI World Tour wins.

*In order to normalise the rider scores gained during the Fantasy Spring Classics and Superclasico contests, and allow for fair comparison between Stage Race and Classics performances during the 2021 season, the Classics points contributing to the overall Velogames season points totals below have been adjusted from the points actually gained during the Fantasy Spring Classics and Superclasico campaigns. The rescaled Classics points included in the "Classics-adjusted season points" below are equal to the Superclasico scoring system points, multiplied by three. For example, in the table below, a rider is allocated 600 points for winning a monument, rather than 200 points that he actually gained in the Superclasico series. It is extremely likely that this rescaled scoring system will be carried over to be the main Superclasico scoring system for 2022!
